New York, NY
Traza, the AI-native platform automating procurement and supply chain operations for large manufacturers and construction companies, today announced the close of a $2.1M pre-seed funding round. The round was led by Base10 Partners with participation from K Fund, a16z scouts, Clara Ventures, Masia Ventures, and angel investors.
The funding will be used to accelerate AI agent development, grow the engineering team, and deepen co-design partnerships with world-class enterprises across the United States.
A $200B+ Market Operating in the Dark
Procurement and supply chain operations are among the most labor-intensive functions in the American industrial economy, and among the most neglected by software. The procurement software market alone is valued at over $8B today and growing at nearly 10% annually — yet software has never been the real opportunity. For every dollar enterprises spend on procurement tools, multiples more go to the people, agencies, and workarounds required to run the process.
Most enterprises meaningfully engage with only their top 20% of suppliers. The remaining long tail — vendor outreach, RFQ management, order tracking, invoice reconciliation, supplier compliance — goes largely unmanaged. Not for lack of importance, but because until now, the operational complexity made it prohibitively expensive.
The cost of inaction is staggering: according to World Commerce & Contracting, procurement contracts lose an average of 11% of their value after signing — not from bad deals, but from the operational gap between what was agreed and what gets executed. For an enterprise with $500M in contracted spend, that is $55M in silent losses per year. AI has changed that equation entirely.
What Traza Does
Traza deploys AI workers that integrate directly into the procurement workflows of large industrial enterprises, executing the operational tasks that today consume thousands of hours of human effort each year — vendor management, quoting processes, order tracking, supplier communications, and supply chain coordination.
For years, none of this was possible. "AI for procurement" meant dashboards, alerts, and recommendation engines — copilots that still placed every decision back in a human's hands. The bottleneck was never ambition. It was capability. In 2026, that has changed. AI agents have crossed a decisive threshold: multi-step reasoning, tool use, and contextual memory are now robust enough to autonomously execute the full operational lifecycle of a procurement workflow — from vendor discovery and RFQ generation to purchase order management, supplier communications, and invoice processing.
The industry is moving fast. A 2025 ABI Research survey found that 76% of supply chain professionals already see autonomous AI agents as ready to handle core tasks like reordering, supplier outreach, and shipment rerouting without human intervention. Early deployments are demonstrably reducing supply chain operational costs by 20–35% — not by assisting the work, but by doing it.
“Supply chain and procurement is one of the largest, most underautomated markets in the Real Economy — and AI agents are finally capable of doing the work, not just assisting with it. Traza's founders bring the rare combination of deep domain conviction and technical horsepower needed to build the category-defining company here.”
The round also brings together a remarkable cohort of founders who have already done it in the US. Clara Ventures — a firm that bets on driven foreign founders building in the US — was created by founders and execs of Olapic, foreign founders themselves who built a New York-based visual commerce platform from scratch and grew it to a $130M exit. Angel investor Pepe Agell — former co-CEO of Chartboost, which he scaled to 700 million monthly users before its acquisition by Zynga — adds operational depth from someone who built a $100M revenue machine in under three years as a Spanish founder in Silicon Valley.
The Founders: Built for This Problem, at This Moment
Traza was founded by Silvestre Jara Montes, Santiago Martínez Bragado, and Sergio Ayala Miñano — three Spanish co-founders who came to the United States through the Exponential Fellowship, the premier program bringing Europe's top technical talent to work at the highest-growth startups in the world before building their own companies in the best market to do so.
The three founders bring exactly the combination this problem demands: operators who have run procurement and supply chain inside some of the world's largest industrial organizations, and engineers who have shipped production-grade AI agent systems at scale. Silvestre spent years at Amazon and CMA CGM — one of the world's largest shipping groups — working at the intersection of operations strategy and supply chain optimization. Santiago built and deployed agentic AI at Clarity AI, then joined Concourse as Founding AI Engineer to build AI systems for enterprise finance teams — backed by a16z, YC, and CRV. Sergio joins from StackAI, one of the fastest-growing enterprise AI platforms in San Francisco, where he was a Founding Engineer.
They have not theorized about the problem. They have lived it — and built the technology to solve it.
“AI is redesigning the procurement category from the ground up. This wave of AI won't just build procurement software — it will rebuild how procurement works.”
